About Us
We are a large, family run stud, based near Crediton in Devon. Owners, Lorna Wilson and Eddie Hosegood have been based at Newton Stud for over 30 years. They started with just a few of their own broodmares, whilst running the farm as a large sheep and arable business, but in 2012 they decided to open Newton Stud to boarding mares. Since then, the stud has grown and developed in to one of the leading studs in the UK. Working closely with EquiARTS Vets, the reproductive services available have evolved to incorporate the latest in equine reproductive technology.
Our LocationWe are located in the heart of Devon, close to the market towns of Crediton and Okehampton, with far reaching views to Dartmoor in one direction and Exmoor in the other. All of our fields are gently sloping, providing the perfect terrain for young horses to develop. We are only 10 minutes from the A30 with easy access to motorway links. |

Our FacilitiesNewton Stud boasts well-ventilated foaling boxes (15'x15') with automatic drinkers and 24hr camera surveillance. Our larger pens and sheds, ranging from 45'x45' to 150'x 160', are all airy and well ventilated. There are all weather turn out areas and purpose built double stocks, meaning that mares can always come through with a friend, keeping them more relaxed. |
